Apple Store Begins Takeover of Tower Theater in Downtown LA

Two and a half years ago, DTLA Rising first reported that Apple was coming to the Tower Theater in Downtown LA. It was an exciting idea to transform one of Broadway’s most unique historic theaters (with that beautiful clock tower) into an even more unique retail location for the coveted Apple brand. Since the news was first reported in 2015, Apple has stayed mum as they usually do about these things. Many downtowners either continued to hope the news was true (like me) or ended up doubting that Apple would ever really pull the trigger. But I’m excited to report once again that some definite changes are coming to the Tower that signal the arrival of one of the most popular tech stores in the world. Last week, I received some info from several vendors who currently rent from the Tower’s exterior mini retail spaces that they received notice from the landlord to vacate the property.
